Somewhere between the clang of chains and the shimmer of synths, South Florida’s fetish underground is having a goth night, and this Friday, June 20.
IN CHAINS will happen at The Venue Fort Lauderdale LIVE, bringing with it a hedonistic fusion of BDSM aesthetics and dark sonic ecstasy. A spiritual successor to the iconic Goth Nights of Fetish Factory lore, this event doesn’t just recall that era, it reimagines it for a new generation of leather-clad dreamers, queer futurists, and lovers of everything nocturnal and transgressive.
From 10 PM to 3 AM, the space transforms into a cathedral of kink: the cage-lit dancefloor pulses with raw techno and industrial heat, the BDSM bunker hosts scenes of consensual spectacle, and the vibe room offers a breather for the flirtatious and fashion-sick. But the soul of the night belongs to the music: goth, industrial, dark techno, electropop, coldwave, synthpop, electroclash and darkwave.
Dino, Ray Milian, Shirl Legion and Ciguapa305 will be behind the booth. “This isn’t just about playing hits,” shares Ciguapa. “It’s about introducing people to new music, taking them somewhere they didn’t expect to go.” With a set that weaves together EBM, electroclash, goth classics, and coldwave treasures, she’s part selector, part sonic seductress.
Raised on rave culture and sharpened by nights at legendary local parties like The Kitchen and her sets at Jolt for Sound Bite Radio, Ciguapa’s sound reflects both nostalgia and curiosity. “I really try to bring the goth into electronic, and the electronic into goth,” she says. “What I love about Dino, Ray, and Shirl is that they always stay current. They don’t just live in the past, they blend it with what’s next.”
This marks the second major gathering of the IN CHAINS collective, following a packed January debut and a recent anniversary blowout. “It’s beautiful seeing this space evolve,” says Ciguapa. “We’re creating something that feels both familiar and totally new. A place where people can come to express, explore, and just lose themselves.”
Goth, in this context, isn’t just eyeliner and lace; it’s a mindset. A mood. A devotion to the dramatic. And at IN CHAINS, that devotion is shared on a collective wavelength, vibrating through bodies in harnesses, shibari, latex, and Victorian glam.
Tickets are available for $25 presale, $35 online, and $40 at the door. But this isn’t a come-as-you-are affair. Fetish dress code is strict, and your outfit should speak before you do.
Ready to pre-game or just curious what the night will sound like? DJ Ciguapa’s curated playlist is the perfect primer: a mix of coldwave, electro, and sonic surprises to set the mood before you descend into the bunker.
