The Best Things to Do in Miami This Weekend: May 16 – 18

We’re heading into mid-May, and Miami isn’t slowing down. With World Goth Day and Haitian Heritage Month in full effect, this weekend taps into the city’s layered identities—past, present, and subcultural. Friday sets the tone with the return of Nu Deco Immersive at the Miami Beach Bandshell—a sensory-heavy rework of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons through scent, sight, and sound. In Wynwood, One Night Live at Gramps offers a stripped-back, artist-first format that elevates emerging voices in an intimate setting. Meanwhile, She Knows Best at MODE throws down a lineup of femme DJs—FELIZETA, LA COMBI, LUNA, NICOLE FIALLO—bringing groove-heavy, genre-defiant sounds to the club.

Saturday hits harder, with World Goth Day Celebration at Bar Nancy leading the charge—a two-day takeover of darkwave, EBM, and industrial from acts like Diavol Strain and Life in Sodom, plus afterparties by Malicia Goth Nights. Earlier in the day and just a few neighborhoods away, the Little Haiti History and Culture Walk offers a slower but no less potent experience—an on-the-ground look at one of Miami’s most culturally rich communities, led by those who’ve lived its story. And if you still have energy after that, Sunday winds down with Sundays at The Getaway and the unapologetically queer, radically fun Steer Queer Bratz Fundraiser, where drag, chaos, and community meet on one open stage.

As always, if you’re planning something worth discovering, send it our way—this city moves fast, but its stories deserve to be told. Submit your event details here to be considered for our upcoming guide and follow us on Instagram for the latest on Miami’s best-kept secrets and underground happenings.
