The evening expands with live music on Biscayne Bay, after-hours access to the moonlit gardens and the historic Main House, and interactive art-making stations that invite playful participation. Accessibility is thoughtfully considered, with activities located in areas free of stairs or accessible by ramps, ensuring the experience remains welcoming to all.
March for the Right to Leisure and Tenderness at Dale Zine marks Ad Minoliti’s first solo exhibition in the city. Drawing inspiration from Bob Black’s 1980 manifesto “The Abolition of Work,” the show explores collective experiences beyond the structures of labor, using printed matter as a medium. The exhibition features zines, artist multiples, and a new series of limited-edition prints, blending illustration, design, and storytelling. The session delves into Hialeah's renowned racetrack at Hialeah Park, once frequented by luminaries such as Winston Churchill, Princess Grace of Monaco, and Elizabeth Taylor. Additionally, the conversation touches upon the iconic welcome sign featuring Jack Tigertail, a Seminole tribal member. Adolfo B. Martin, Librarian at Hialeah Public Libraries, joins Dr. George to share insights from the library's extensive collections, with the discussion moderated by WLRN's Helen Acevedo. Dear Everything: A Musical Uprising for the Earth at Miami Beach Bandshell combines the urgency of the climate crisis with the power of collective action, following a group of young people, led by Sophia, who fight to save their forest. The production features contributions from Tony and Obie Award-winning playwright V (formerly Eve Ensler), director Diane Paulus, Grammy-nominated songwriter Justin Tranter, and features Idina Menzel as well as a cast including Crystal Monee Hall, YDE, Paravi, Luke Ferrari, Michael Williams, Brittany Campbell, Javier Muñoz, and Terence Archie.
Miami On Waxx: Eagle Room pop up at Hoy Como Ayer presents a vinyl experience featuring live DJ sets by @ackdaddy, @sandee.music, and TMD from @command_center_records. Curated record pop-ups include @command_center_records, @t_bag_records_miami, and @tikitumbao, offering attendees a chance to explore unique vinyl collections.
