With a sound that blends dance, electro-pop, and even a touch of hip-hop, singer and songwriter Valentina Moretti returns with her new single, “StarStruck,” a fun, upbeat, and vibrant track that conceals a deeper message of acceptance and self-worth.
Through the story of an alien in love who arrives with the intention of taking her away from Earth, the artist addresses her struggle as a trans woman in a world where intolerance and ignorance still hit the LGBTQI+ community hard, especially transgender people.
Moretti explains that this being from another planet comes in search of her character, Space Val, who at times hesitates about leaving her planet behind but ultimately decides to stay, aware that everything they need is already there.

For the singer, the story reflects aspects of her own life, shaped by the constant need to protect herself from people who approach her driven by unhealthy curiosity, rather than a sincere desire to know, understand, and value her as a human being.
The song, which echoes the sounds of artists like LMFAO and Far East Movement, is paired with a video that shows Valentina dancing with confidence and pride in her sexuality, her half-smile subtly hinting at the challenges of navigating a complex and demanding journey.
“StarStruck” fits seamlessly into a creative universe that Valentina Moretti has been building with coherence and ambition. This approach was already evident on her EP “From Saturn With Love,” released through the British label HE.SHE.THEY, a project that solidified her sonic identity within indie dance and alternative electro-pop, with constant nods to club culture and the sci-fi aesthetic that runs through much of her work.

Among the artist’s achievements are her placement on Beatport charts with the single “Planet X,” her DJ mix for BBC Radio 1, and performances on some of the most important stages in Los Angeles and Palm Springs, expanding her reach both as a DJ and as a performer.
After such a diverse journey, this single brings everything together. It speaks about identity, the desire to belong, the gaze of others, and the need to reaffirm oneself in the face of a world that insists on pointing out what is different.
The song also serves as a prelude to a year of consolidation for Valentina Moretti, who is preparing the launch of her label CyberFetish and the project Soy Machin, initiatives that expand her artistic discourse toward more explicit territory of protest and visibility, especially around the bullying and violence faced by trans women.
“StarStruck” achieves its goals. It makes you dance, feel, and enjoy, but it also invites listeners to imagine a kinder world where wounded hearts can find love and support.
