British singer Nippa takes another major step forward with the release of “Homegrown,” a collaboration with American artist Blxst.
The song feels like an honest conversation between two artists who, despite growing up in different countries and cultures, share the same values.
Originally from Tottenham in North London, Nippa has become a defining voice in UK R&B thanks to a style he describes as “hood R&B,” blending real-life street stories with irresistibly catchy melodies.
Musically, “Homegrown” leans into a warm, laid-back, and nostalgic sound. Smooth harmonies allow Nippa's melodic vocals to pair naturally with Blxst's relaxed, almost conversational delivery.
Lyrically, both artists reflect on how strange and exciting it is to enjoy current success without forgetting past hardships. Nippa makes that clear from the opening verse, reflecting on his journey from feeling overlooked in his neighborhood to traveling across the United States in luxury cars. Blxst, meanwhile, brings his signature West Coast style, reflecting on how he carried his neighborhood’s sound onto the global stage.
The chorus becomes the song's emotional centerpiece, asking what you would do if you came from nothing and had to fight through hunger without giving up.

The single also serves as the official soundtrack for Tottenham Hotspur's 2026/27 home kit, paying tribute to the North London community that helped shape Nippa's identity.
Rather than treating London and Los Angeles as opposites, “Homegrown” finds common ground between both cities, showing how identity can travel without losing the people and places that shaped it.
