Optimistic, inclusive, joyful, and deeply heartwarming, “Some People See, But I Don't” is the new single from Doctor Noize, who draws inspiration from his wife, Janette Cullinan, to explore disability through a kind, gentle, and uplifting perspective.
Directed by Sidney Cullinan, the accompanying music video draws from the family's everyday life, capturing the bond between Janette, her husband Cory Cullinan, and their daughters through quiet, candid moments that reinforce the song's message of resilience.
From meals on the backyard patio and family car rides to grocery shopping trips, the video showcases the family's strong bond in navigating life with disability. More importantly, it emphasizes everything Janette can do and the many skills she has developed as a blind person.
With this release, Doctor Noize shifts the focus away from limitations to celebrate independence, self-confidence, and the unique ways each person experiences the world.
The production blends elements of funk and pop to create a bright, energetic atmosphere that perfectly complements its uplifting message.
Janette's involvement extends far beyond serving as the inspiration behind the song. In addition to being at the heart of the story, she also lends her voice to the recording, making it an intensely personal project for the Cullinan family. The single also features acclaimed musicians, including Grammy-nominated violinist Jeremy Cohen, saxophonist Art Bouton, and bassist Isaac Moore.

With a career spanning more than three decades, Cory Cullinan has built a distinctive artistic project under the name Doctor Noize. Holding a degree in music from Stanford University and a master's degree in Recording Arts, he has developed a body of work that blends entertainment and education, using characters, storytelling, and music to introduce children and adults alike to topics such as leadership, sustainability, diversity, and inclusion.
Widely recognized for his one-man-band performances as well as his work as a composer, producer, and educator, Cullinan has transformed music into a powerful tool for inspiring conversation and learning.
That philosophy shines through once again as Doctor Noize brings “Some People See, But I Don’t” to life through a story rooted in lived experience, creating a space where people with disabilities can see themselves represented and feel encouraged to embrace what they can do rather than focus on their limitations.
