Velvet Chains Dive Into Darkness With “Hurt Me”

Velvet Chains is your go-to stop if you want some real rock. Their previous song, “How the Story Ends,” was powerful and in your face, embracing the inner darkness we all have. Now, with powerful guitars and seductive vocals, they return with “Hurt Me.”

In “Hurt Me,” the drums play an important role, enhancing the atmosphere even further. The lyrics present a bleak soundscape with lines such as the melancholy “Love the way you hurt me” paired with “Don’t ever let me go,” creating a contrast between emotions. Love can bring salvation but also self-destruction, and “Hurt Me” is rooted in those themes. The track goes even harder into that dark corner of our hearts.

Velvet Chains’ style is reminiscent of bands like The Veer Union and Black Veil Brides. What all these bands have in common is their ability to channel the energy and aggression we have all felt in one way or another into something special. In this case, it’s “Hurt Me,” a song that rock fans shouldn’t miss.

A music video for "Hurt Me" is set to arrive in March with a concept that plays with power, submission, and illusion, followed in mid-March by the release of "DEAD IN THE HEAD," doubling down on the heavier, more abrasive direction the band is clearly not letting go of. And if it isn’t enough reason to pay attention, Velvet Chains are taking the show on the road this spring as special guests on the Des Rocs North America Tour 2026, with RØMES also on the bill. The run kicks off in March and stretches into early April.

Velvet Chains have quickly become one of our favorite bands. Their grittier sound and style set the mood from the first note, and "Hurt Me" is everything we've come to expect from them and then some. There are bands that flirt with darkness and bands that live in it. Velvet Chains are the latter, and 2026 is already making that very clear.
