The hope behind Violet Days' “Everything's Coming Up Roses”

Striking a balance between lyrical depth and the airy lightness that defines ethereal indie pop is no easy feat. Yet that distinctive blend, capable of drawing listeners into a reflective, almost hypnotic state, is one of the defining qualities of “Everything's Coming Up Roses,” the new single from Violet Days.

The song is part of the duo's upcoming project, set for release later this year, and reflects a new creative chapter following nearly two years away from releasing new music. That sense of renewal is echoed in the words of Swedish singer-songwriter and the project's frontwoman, Lina Hansson.

“I wrote ‘Everything’s Coming Up Roses’ as a mantra during a time when I felt completely surrounded by grief and had almost lost hope. I wanted to write the words I wished I could believe, hoping that one day they would become true. Looking back now, I realize how far I've come, and I feel closer to those words than ever before. I hope this song can be a reminder that even when life feels impossibly heavy, things can change, and that everything will eventually be okay again,” she says.

Hansson's heartfelt reflection offers the key to understanding a song that finds beauty in vulnerability. The single embraces uncertainty and transforms it into hope, while its immersive production guides listeners through every emotional turn.

Made up of Lina Hansson and producer Kris Eriksson, the project has carved out its own place within the Scandinavian indie pop scene through a blend of cinematic soundscapes and deeply personal songwriting.

Alongside Violet Days, both artists have built impressive careers as songwriters for internationally acclaimed acts including The Chainsmokers, FIFTY FIFTY, Jonas Blue, Sam Feldt, Winona Oak, and Monsta X. That wealth of experience is equally reflected in the strength and sophistication of their own music.

With more than 200 million combined streams across their releases and songwriting credits, along with honors such as Songwriter of the Year at the Dalecarlia Music Awards and a nomination for the Denniz Pop Awards, the duo returns with a project that leaves listeners with a genuine sense of comfort and optimism.

Everything's Coming Up Roses” captures the emotional honesty that defines Violet Days while embracing the hope and renewal at the heart of the project's latest chapter.
