Jack Manley Previews Upcoming Album with New Single “FLC Punk”

Jack Manley closes 2025 with “FLC Punk,” a release that steps in with more urgency than ceremony. The track moves through both shoegaze and alt-rock territory while carrying a distinctive Brit-rock charm.

The song opens with a catchy melody, and soon Jack’s voice enters with a slight distortion. Those Brit-rock influences are evident right from the start. The track builds little by little, and the good vibes and fun energy are palpable. By the time the chorus arrives, everything becomes explosive and fantastic. The electric guitar perfectly complements the lyrics, creating something you won’t soon forget.

“FLC Punk” finds Jack Manley examining the messy mix of comfort, confusion, and half-hearted rebellion that comes with growing up in a world built to protect you. Instead of glamorizing the angst, the song treats it like a splinter under the skin, turning both class pressure and performative “punk” attitude into something catchy and unsettling.

The story centers on the familiar American figure of the kid who has every safety net imaginable yet insists on acting like an exile. What begins as annoyance turns heavier as he notices how easily even the most put-together people are struggling, and that realization forces him to question how much stability anyone actually has.

Jack draws from his time at Fordham Lincoln Center, threading sharp guitar lines through a mood that moves between frustration and reflection. The track follows someone drifting between resentment and recognition, learning that privilege doesn’t disappear just because you try to outrun it, and that anger loses its power when you refuse to acknowledge your own part in the chaos.

In Jack Manley’s own words, “‘FLC Punk’ is me calling myself out, how angry I was, how lost I felt, and how desperate I was to prove I didn’t belong. That I was somehow unique in my suffering. The song sits in that tension. I wrote the first verse in class years ago and then left it alone. I remember feeling completely overwhelmed, surrounded by kids who had everything, and somehow we were all still a mess. It made me wonder what chance any of us really had. The song is me admitting that privilege doesn’t save you, and you can’t outrun pain no matter where you come from.”

“FLC Punk” stands out as one of Jack’s most direct and energetic songs. It’s restless, observant, and filled with uneasy honesty. This new single will appear on his upcoming album, “Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been?,” where Jack explores themes of recovery, nostalgia, and coming of age a little too late.
