With a UK tour underway and the upcoming release of a film whose soundtrack bears his signature from start to finish, emerging singer-songwriter Matt Koelsch is set to close out 2025 on a high note with music that connects and inspires.
Boston-based artist Koelsch will join Wet Wet Wet as a special guest, alongside the iconic Heather Small, lead vocalist of M People. The tour will include ten dates across some of the UK’s most renowned venues, from Bath Forum to Indigo at The O2 in London, with stops in Truro, Portsmouth, Oxford, and Eastbourne.

For Koelsch, this tour means much more than just a string of shows: “When I open up, you open up—and something special happens. That energy, that exchange, is the magic I live for on stage. I’m incredibly excited to share the stage with such legendary artists and to experience more of the beautiful UK along the way,” he said.
Beyond the stage, 2025 will also mark a cinematic milestone in the musician’s career with his work as composer for the soundtrack of the drama-horror film The Anger, directed by Anthony Knasas, set to premiere next year.
A project several years in the making, The Anger became a true work of creative collaboration. Shot almost entirely on an iPhone 14, the film aims to break conventions through its artistic and narrative quality despite technical limitations.
“In approaching the score, I revisited classic horror and suspense films. Rather than assigning separate musical motifs to each character, we chose to build everything around one central theme. This allowed for variations and reinterpretations—sometimes minimal, sometimes driven by percussion or deep, expansive drums—to guide the emotion and rhythm of each scene,” Matt explained.

The result is a soundtrack that reinforces the film’s independent and daring character, one that rivals big-budget productions with renowned composers behind them.
With over 1,000 live performances, 1.5 million streams, and collaborations with musicians tied to artists such as Adele, John Mayer, and Hans Zimmer, Koelsch is in the midst of a creative expansion. After a decade in Los Angeles, his return to the East Coast marked the beginning of a new phase, more introspective, yet more ambitious.
His upcoming release under Turbulent Records blends pop energy, bright guitars, and orchestral arrangements with touches reminiscent of John Mayer, Jack Johnson, and Paul Simon, Koelsch’s key influences.
Matt wants it all, and he wants it now. He embraces “yes” as a way of life; fearless, disciplined, and utterly focused. And if he keeps that pace, success seems less like a possibility and more like a promise.
