Like a track pulled from a forgotten late-90s CD, somewhere between Boyz II Men, Mary J. Blige, and Janet Jackson, Mexican singer, songwriter, producer, and activist Mercedes Galas steps back into the spotlight with her new single, “Don’t You Worry.”
The song, which moves seamlessly between English and Spanish, captures much of who she is as an artist. Blending Latin rhythms with R&B, the single serves as an anthem, encouraging listeners to let go, trust, and believe that everything will be okay, even when the odds aren’t in their favor.
"Music can heal, guide, and remind us that even when things feel uncertain, there’s always a reason to trust and keep going," said the Tijuana-born artist.
As an independent artist, Mercedes Galas has carved out a path defined by introspection, social commitment, and a strong musical identity. From her beginnings in Tijuana to her current home in New York, she has turned every stage into a space to showcase the power of her voice and the honesty of her songwriting.

Her talent earned her a spot as a semifinalist in the binational competition México Canta por la Paz y Contra las Adicciones, where she performed “Migrar en paz,” a track that reflects both her critical perspective and her connection to the migrant experience. That visibility, along with appearances at local festivals in Mexico and the United States, has given her a foothold in both cultures.
Galas has also revealed her most intimate side as a producer and writer with “Reflections,” a six-song EP she recorded and produced in her NYC apartment. Each track, from “Free” and “Fuerza” to “PERDIDA EN TU JUEGO,” embodies empowerment, vulnerability, and personal exploration, as highlighted by outlets such as Billboard Argentina.
With “Don’t You Worry,” Mercedes Galas aims to expand her presence in the English-speaking market, offering themes that resonate universally: trusting the present moment as the ultimate source of peace.
