New Releases That Turn Heartache Into Strength and Childhood Wonder Into Cosmic Exploration

Your dose of fresh music is here, and it’s charged with emotion and bold creativity. Elle Winter’s new EP confronts heartbreak head-on. Goldie Boutilier’s “I Can’t” lingers with raw emotion. Alex Bloom’s “Morning” feels warm and honest. Alongside them, HUNTER, Bindy, and TAVE bring fresh sounds and strong voices. No filler, just music that moves you. This selection reflects artists unafraid to explore vulnerability and power.

Kat Cunning - "Dancer"

With the single "Dancer," from breakout EP “Glass Jaw,” Kat Cunning issues a sonic cry of intention that feels timely and explosive. The music behind the song is a dark synth-wave pulse-beat to keep pace with a moody brilliance. When the galvanizing vocals of Cunning ride over the driving beat, the song is a big-screen movie anthem and underdog fight cry that’s equal in parts to Jennifer Beals’ classic Flashdance choreography and the in-it-to-win-it fight heart of Rocky. It’s a showman’s combination of bravery and unadorned power that’s guaranteed to be a knockout.

Elle Winter - “Never Even Met Her"

Elle Winter’s upcoming EP "Never Even Met Her" (out August 15) marks a raw and unflinching new chapter for the rising pop artist, known for her emotionally rich songwriting and powerhouse vocals. Written in the aftermath of a breakup defined by betrayal and false narratives, the project is a confident reclaiming of her identity centered around the realization that the version of her being talked about was someone she didn’t even recognize. Teaming up once again with hitmaking producers The Orphanage (Lizzo, Demi Lovato, Sabrina Carpenter), Elle builds on the success of her debut "Yeah, No," with a collection that balances catharsis and clarity, vulnerability and resolve. The EP's title track, set to be released alongside an original music video, anchors a body of work that channels heartbreak into healing and self-doubt into power.

Goldie Boutilier - "I Can't"

"I Can't" is a masterpiece of contemporary heartbreak noir, a gleaming, slow-burning fire that continues to haunt long after the final note. Goldie Boutilier's rich vocals glide effortlessly over a dark, movie lot soundstage, producing a richly haunted atmosphere. “I Can’t” adheres to the artist's own edict of "unresolved hearts." It's a record that freely asks the tough question: What if this is the best I'll ever have? Before presenting a hard, but heart-wrenching, piece of wisdom: the most important person you’ll ever take care of is yourself.

Alex Bloom - “Morning”

With his newly released single "Morning," Los Angeles-based singer and songwriter Alex Bloom offers a sun-washed and lovesick first look at his soon-to-be-released third album “Across the Country.” The single is textural chamber-pop, and its golden guitar motif seductively tips the form toward the Beatles’ "Blackbird." It’s an anthem to the beginnings of all-consuming Brooklyn romance, and Bloom’s vulnerable vocals hover over the comfortable blanket of acoustic guitar and drums.

Alex Bloom’s Across the Country, out September 12, will make its live debut the night before at a special release show on September 11 at Los Angeles’ Skylight Theatre, where Bloom will bring the record to life in a setting as thoughtful and personal as the music itself. Tickets and more details are available now.

HUNTER - "GOOD GIRL"

HUNTER’s sophomore EP, set for release on August 15, marks a compelling evolution in her signature blend of soulful pop and R&B, showcasing her powerhouse vocals and deeply personal songwriting crafted alongside acclaimed collaborators like David Ryan Harris and Jamie Hartman. Building on the momentum of her latest single, “GOOD GIRL,” the EP promises a fresh yet timeless sound infused with classic ‘60s and ‘70s influences, further establishing HUNTER as a dynamic artist with a rich, emotive presence. Following the empowering energy of “Disco Ball,” this new body of work is poised to captivate fans and critics alike while paving the way for her upcoming national tour this fall.

BINDY

Bindy’s upcoming debut EP, set for release this fall, captures the raw energy and heartfelt storytelling that define the New York City band’s evolving sound. Fronted by Francesca “Bindy” Craft and shaped through a journey spanning city gigs and London pubs, the collection, mixed by Caesar Edmunds, explores themes of home, movement, and reinvention with a compelling blend of intimacy and grit. This body of work invites listeners into a world where familiar emotions are expressed through both nostalgic reflections and fresh perspectives, marking a bold new chapter for the band’s growing presence in the indie scene.

Kirsten Agresta Copely - Kuruvinda

GRAMMY® nominee harpist Kirsten Agresta Copely presents “Kuruvinda,” a ten-piece exploration in tribute to the subtle strength of honesty over the stress of perfection. The successor to her critically praised “Aquamarine” trades otherworldly stillness for an even greater exploration of light and darkness from the imagery of an imperfect ruby. Created out of suffering personally known, each introspective work is a calculated movement from vulnerability to openness and stretching the harp's complete dynamic compass to create lush, organic worlds. In the absence of synthesizers, the disc is a close listening invitation, a world in which flaws aren't tolerated but lovefully accepted.

TAVE - "BLOCK"

On “BLOCK,” GRAMMY-nominated R&B artist TAVE brings together British-American rapper IDK and 13-time GRAMMY nominee Musiq Soulchild for a powerful fusion of soulful R&B and dynamic hip-hop. The production itself is a warm, retro-toned sonic environment constructed out of fuzzy soul, shimmering keys, and jazzy loops, creating a timeless setting that feels energetic and intimate. TAVE's production resists surface-level stuff through words, while Musiq Soulchild provides a timeless, soul-stirring recitation, and IDK grounds the track with raw, streetwise verses.

Arilena Ara - Weightless

Steering clear of the footsteps of other Albanian pop stars such as Rita Ora and Dua Lipa, Arilena Ara makes her U.S. debut with the poignant ballad "Weightless," bringing a fresh and heartfelt presence to the American music scene. The explosive anthem on the life-changing powers of love is the ideal platform for the raw and expressive vocals of Ara. The project comes courtesy of 16-time Academy Award nominee veteran Diane Warren and GRAMMY-winning Mikal Blue. The tapestry and triumphant chords provide the ideal backdrop for the expressive voice that does justice to the themes of the track.

Tone Ranger - "Channel" and "Wonder"

Multi-instrumentalist Alex Simon, aka Tone Ranger, comes back with the highly personal A/B side single, "Channel" and "Wonder." The single fuses the mystic and the mundane with utmost ease. “Channel” grew from the seed of a thunderstorm and singing bowls, evolving into a meditative yet bittersweet tribute to birth and childbirth, woven with lighthearted recordings of Alex’s wife Gabriella and their toddler playing together. “Wonder,” on the other hand, begins with his toddler daughter’s curious question, “What’s this one?” sparking a journey through cosmic landscapes and childhood awe, filled with otherworldly textures that evoke distant planets and shimmering wind chimes
