In front of a massive crowd, with the excitement running high after Mexico’s 3-0 victory over Czechia, acclaimed Mexican band La Nueva Ola de Cumbia lit up the FIFA Fan Fest in Miami with its biggest hits and a stage show that paired lucha libre masks and bold colors with the band's contemporary take on cumbia.
The performance took place at Bayfront Park as part of a free outdoor event created especially for soccer fans and culture lovers to enjoy the FIFA World Cup, celebrate their heritage, and gather with family beyond the 90 minutes of the matches and outside the stadiums.

Known for blending cumbia with indie, alternative rock, and other contemporary influences, the group, representing one of the region’s most beloved musical genres, performed songs from its debut album, including “Viernes de Peligro,” “Casada Con La Cumbia,” and “Llegó La Nueva Ola.”
The six-piece band's catalog includes a cumbia reinterpretation of “Para No Verte Más,” along with the originals “Riki Ran” and “Cumbiando.” The latter two have accumulated more than 400,000 combined streams on Spotify, while the group has also earned a spot on Billboard Latin On The Radar.

La Nueva Ola de Cumbia had Miami dancing with a performance that showcased a broader vision of cumbia, proving the genre can evolve without losing its festive, emotional, and communal spirit.
