Born as Luis Fernando Villa Álvarez, WestCOL started streaming video games from his room and grew into a powerful digital creator and businessman. His direct style, large live audiences, and major interviews with top political figures have shown how influence and public conversation have moved in Colombia.
WestCOL represents a new generation of entrepreneurs who emerged from digital platforms and transformed online influence into scalable businesses. Starting on YouTube in 2015 with gaming content, he built a loyal community through years of consistent presence across Twitch, Kick, and other platforms, but streaming was never the end goal.
Under the Imperio W umbrella, WestCOL has built businesses across media, including music through W Sound, fashion with W Merch, nightclubs, and a restaurant in Miami, turning a personal brand into a multi-sector operation with a real economic footprint.
The label's reach became undeniable with “La Plena.” The track, produced under W Sound with Beéle and Ovy On The Drums, crossed one billion streams on Spotify, joining the platform's Billion Club and taking WestCOL into Latin music territory few streamers have reached.
His influence became even more evident through his live interviews with former Colombian President Álvaro Uribe Vélez and President Gustavo Petro. These conversations reached massive audiences, especially among younger Colombians, and generated more national discussion than many traditional media formats. The interviews confirmed that important public conversations now often start on digital platforms.
It is worth mentioning that WestCOL does not work alone. His partnership with Carlos Vidal has been key to his evolution. While WestCOL provides the creative talent, personality, and direct connection with the audience, Vidal brings strategic vision, structure, and business scaling. This combination of skills has helped turn a personal brand into real companies with formal operations.

The result is far more impactful than just content and views. WestCOL’s projects now support jobs for production teams, creatives, administrative staff, logistics personnel, and service workers. What started as digital influence has become concrete economic activity and employment opportunities in Colombia.
WestCOL’s story reflects a larger change. Traditional media no longer holds the same power it once had. Today, creators who build strong communities can set agendas, develop successful businesses, and influence culture and politics.
WestCOL shows how digital influence can become diversified companies and real economic impact. His path offers a clear example for a new generation of Latinx entrepreneurs.
