The Best Things to Do in Miami This Weekend: May 22 – 25

Miami’s weekend calendar is coming in heavy with underground heat and alternative flavor, just in time for World Goth Day. The city’s raw creative core takes the spotlight, where scenes collide across sound, style, and subculture. From fetish fashion and darkwave sets to punk energy and post-rock nostalgia, there’s a current running through Miami that’s far from surface level: it’s expressive, unfiltered, and deeply rooted in community.

Thursday starts with a bang as the iconic Fetish Factory continues its 30th anniversary weekend at the Sheraton with its signature mix of fantasy fashion and genre-spanning nightlife. Expect industrial beats, leather looks, and an atmosphere charged with unapologetic freedom. Friday keeps the momentum going with MOONSTRUCK V001 at Gramps, a sonic dive into hypnotic techno and boundary-pushing club sounds with DJ Clémentine and Asha Rhea, and Sweat Records’ Stereolab Listening Party, a rare moment to hear the legendary band’s first new album in 15 years before its official drop.

Saturday hits multiple lanes. At ZeyZey, Peter Bjorn and John bring indie nostalgia into the now with their Writer’s Block tour stop. Jolt Radio’s takeover at Over Under will be spinning Miami Bass, booty beats, and dirty electro late into the night. Earlier in the day, Ourmarket celebrates four years at Lot 11 Skatepark with an all-day hangout featuring DJs, live bands, and local vendors. Wrap the weekend on Sunday with Café y GRIND at The Corner, or step into a different dimension entirely with Röyksopp’s DJ set at ZeyZey, otherworldly electronics for those who like their Sunday nights a little cinematic.

As always, if you’re planning something worth discovering, send it our way—this city moves fast, but its stories deserve to be told. Submit your event details here to be considered for our upcoming guide and follow us on Instagram for the latest on Miami’s best-kept secrets and underground happenings.
